Image Backup and Restore
Image backup and restoration is the process of creating an image of an entire hard disk drive that can be used if that hard drive is corrupted or replaced in the future.
The image should only contain the bare minimum in order to keep the size down and as such data and configuration files should be backed up regularly according to the users schedule.
Data files should also be removed from the primary hard drive when the image is created and if possible before the image is restored.
The backup utility that is used by Acoem is the open source Clonezilla software. This is a highly versatile application that can be used to create and restore disk images.
While the application requires some technical knowledge Acoem has made this process as simple as possible.
For Congrego® loggers, Acoem supplies a restoration image in the form of a bootable USB flash drive. It is important to keep this flash drive somewhere safe in case it is needed for a speedy logger recovery.
Disclaimer
Acoem do not offer support for the Clonezilla application. The application offers online support documentation which should be followed by a qualified individual.
While any bootable USB flash drive supplied by Acoem should work as intended, Acoem do not accept any responsibility for loss of data during the restoration process.
